Ringing in the New Year!

Hudson Valley Bridge at SunsetOut with the old and in with the new! As 2020 comes to an end, we want to wish you a Happy New Year! We hope that 2021 brings new beginnings of happiness and good health to all of you.

This past year has been a challenge for many of us. As businesses, we have felt the effects of being shut down and the loss of business over many, many months, but we have confidence that the new year will bring a new start to everyone.

If you stayed with us this past year, thank you! Despite the times’ uncertainty, guests visited at our member properties, smiling from behind face masks. Guests appreciated the fact that we were doing everything we could to make sure their stays were safe, and they were still able to enjoy greeting new friends and having new exciting adventures as they explored the Hudson Valley and all it has to offer.

We greeted past guests’ return and welcomed many locals who, while they usually went further afield for their annual vacations, stayed locally and discovered that there was much more in the Hudson Valley to explore that they were never aware of.

There were countless days here this year with beautiful weather so guests could explore the outdoors, and we loved meeting all of you as we smiled back from behind our masks.

Couple hiking in the winterWe look forward soon to the day when you can again hear the smiles in our voices as we greet you but also see the smiles themselves. 😊

As you make your plans for 2021, rest assured that our member inns are doing everything to keep their properties as safe for you as they can.

Our B&Bs and Inns are our homes too! When you come to stay with us, we know you will feel the warm (and safe) hospitality we have to offer.

We are always here with open doors waiting for when you feel it’s a good time to get away to relax and eat a delicious mouthwatering breakfast.

If you are planning on visiting the Hudson Valley in 2021 or are a local and plan to explore more that the Valley has to offer, here are a few interesting events going on next month to come and check out.

Winter Wonderland at Clermont State Historic Site, Clermont on January 17 at 2:00 p.m.
Step into the shoes of one of the Hudson Valley’s most notable families, the Livingstons; they lived in Clermont for multiple generations. Walk the site as the Livingston sisters, Janet and Honoria, once did. The Historic site has many other events in January as well. Check out this and other outdoor events at https://www.friendsofclermont.org/events.

All-Day Winter Bird Watching at Esopus Bend Nature Preserve, Saugerties, held throughout January but starting on Saturday, January 9, 2011
Sign up to participate in the 2021 Winter Bird Count. Participants will census wintering birds throughout the 160-acre Esopus Bend Nature Preserve, recording numbers of individuals and species diversity. Results will become part of the preserve’s biodiversity database and help provide future guidance for land management and stewardship decisions.
