Coming up this coming weekend is The Hudson Valley Wine & Food Fest which will be held Saturday September 10th and Sunday September 11th, 2016 at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck, NY.
Now going into it’s 13th year, The Hudson Valley Wine & Food is a celebration of wine and food that takes place each September, the weekend after Labor Day. The festival offers wine from throughout New York State, an incredible selection of gourmet foods from around the area, and a wealth of fine crafts and crafters. There will be cooking demonstrations from local chefs from some of the finest Hudson Valley restaurants, and wine seminars to educate your palate.
The festival also includes live music on their music stage as well as musicians roaming the grounds. Don’t forget to check out the Food Truck Corral offering the best of the area’s unique food offerings for your digestive pleasures, over 15 gourmet trucks are going to be there with regional and international specialties including Reggae Boy Jamaican Food, The Empanada Times, Timi’s Greek & Middle Eastern Food Greek & Middle Eastern fare and more!
The fair also offers a plethora of gourmet specialty food booths including barrel aged balsamic vinegars & infused olive oils, maple syrup and maple products, hot sauces, cookies, chocolate, jams, dips, rubs, mixes, fresh cheeses and charcuterie, cupcakes, salsas, wine sticks, marinades and more!
And don’t forget to check out the cooking demonstrations at the festival as well! Chef Vincent Tropepe will be offering demonstrations both days of the Fest, as well as signing of his new book “In My Whites”. Edible Magazine dubbed Vincent the “American born Gordon Ramsey.” The festival also features Chef Kevin Des who has been featured on the Nationally Syndicated Better Show, CT Style, Better CT, Fox Morning Show & The Rhode Show, Chef Expert for Gordon Ramsey and Featured Chef on both Food Network‘s Chef Wanted & Beat Bobby Flay. He is also the 2015 winner of “Top Celebrity Chef Showdown”. Chef Kevin will be the guest Emcee for the Cooking Demo stage and offer his own demonstrations both days of the Fest.
For the wine enthusiast, Debbie Gioquindo, the Hudson Valley Wine Goddess will be in attendance at the fair. Debbie is a member of the American Society of Wine Educators, and will be offering wine seminars each day of the festival. Learn the secrets of wine and get her new book “Hudson Valley Uncorked”. On Saturday will be a Cake Ball and Wine Pairing and on Sunday learn about the Hudson Valley Signature Grape, Cabernet Franc and attend an informative wine and cheese pairing.
Tasting Ticket – $40 at the Gate
Includes tasting glass and all the wine/beer/cider/spirits sampling. Most samples are 1-2 oz. Food is not included. (Age 21 and over – ID required.)
Regular Admission – $15 at the Gate
Children age 12 and under are admitted free
