Wine, Beer, and Food Festivals in the Hudson Valley

September and October are two of the nicest months to visit the Hudson Valley. Kids are back in school, the weather cools down, the harvest ripens, festivals are in full swing, and the fall foliage is spectacular. The Grape Harvest

One way to celebrate the harvest is at the new Hudson Valley Craft Beer Fest, featuring 36+ breweries, chefs offering demos, lots of music, culinary tastings, lectures, and vendors galore, taking place at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds, 6550 Spring Brook Ave, Rhinebeck NY, Saturday, September 12, 2015, 11am-6pm & Sunday, September 13, 2015, from 11am to 5pm. This is the first year that beer has been added to the Hudson Valley Wine and Food Fest, now in its fourteenth year. Located indoors, the Dutchess County Fairgrounds event happens rain or shine and hosts fifty+ restaurants, independent food producers, plus an impressive 60 wineries, distillers, and cider makers. Come ready to taste, learn, buy, and mingle with others who enjoy food and wine.

Not into big crowds? You might prefer to visit a farm any day of the week and pick your own apples. There are many farms to choose from. Or head to one of the local farmers markets and take home a pie or some jam or a basket of fresh picked apples, so you have a memento of your weekend in the country.
